Get Juicy With It (plus the recipe)
I started juicing a few years ago and learned that it's in the early Spring when I see the benefits the most for myself. I think it has something to do with the change of season, when everything starts growing again and the days begin earlier here in Iowa.
Whatever the reason, the benefits are amazing. Here are just a few...
- Eliminates toxins.
- Aids digestion.
- Makes your skin glow!
- Whitens your teeth :)
There are spectacular juicing recipes and methods out there – but this one is my favorite! I use a Centrifugal Omega Juicer because it extracts a lot of the fiber with the juice, which is so important.
Here's the recipe:
Serves You! (one serving)
- 1 medium to large cucumber
- 1 apple, cored
- 2 cups of spinach, kale (any greens you have)
- 3-4 stalks of celery
Run the items through your juicer in the order below. Make sure you are using clean and organic vegetables whenever possible.
But if you can't find organic, or it's just really too expensive (like $3.99 for a single cucumber, you've gotta be kidding me!!) - no worries. You can find a local or greenhouse cucumber and just peel it.
And remember, juicing is fun! Especially if you have little ones around – they LOVE running the veggies and fruit through the juicer!
