It's time to be really honest with yourself.
Will what I'm doing and working on day in and day out get me to where I ultimately want to be?
As in – what's your end game? I'm talking big picture and small goals.
If you're living day to day not thinking about the big picture and don't even have the slightest idea of where you want to end up, and you're thinking that if you just enjoy the ride, it will all work out – well, I'm sorry to say that it probably won't.
Now you're probably thinking, "What? I thought I was supposed to be really present and enjoy each moment and let my life flow naturally???"
Well, yes. But no.
If you just let each day flow with no outcome or result in mind for the big picture, you'll most likely keep getting what you've got.
On the other hand, if you take a bit of time to set clear results and outcomes for yourself, then you'll most likely achieve them..and don't forget that you can still be in flow and enjoy each moment being really present to your daily life AND have big goals and dreams set for yourself with clear action steps and results to take along the way.
I challenge you to ask yourself these two questions (even if you think you already have a plan locked in):
1. Where do I want to be 6 months from now?
2. What needs to happen each day for the next 6 months for me to get there?
Here's an example:
1. I want to travel to Europe six months from now.
2. Will I travel solo or go with a friend or group? Research travel options. Save money and open a separate bank account and label it "Europe". How much do I need to save? Is there anything I need to do in order to save this money? Set up an automatic transfer? Ask for more hours at work? Get a second job? Ask for a raise? Sell something I don't need anymore?
It's really crucial that you don't just wait for things to happen.
Make a plan. Keep it simple. Take daily action. Celebrate! Repeat.
