There are two ways I know when it's time to quit something:
1. If the feeling is gone – and not just for a day or two – but really gone. The feeling that you're already moving on from the project, relationship, or job.
2. When something else (and not just a bring, shiny object) grabs a hold of your attention and calls out to you. It usually will happen more than once, and can even feel or look like remarkable synchronicity, an add deja vu moment, or even a miracle.
